How verification works on Galerie Minuit

A plain-English guide to age and profile verification on Galerie Minuit — what we check, which methods apply, what we store, and what the verified badge means.

Verification on Galerie Minuit works on two levels: a required age check that everyone completes, and an optional profile verification that earns a trust badge. This guide explains both.

The required age check

You must be 18 or older to join, and we require age verification during onboarding. In the UK and EU we comply with the Online Safety Act 2023, which requires highly effective age assurance for adult content platforms.

During onboarding we route you through the age-verification methods available for your region. Depending on where you are, those methods include facial age estimation, photo ID, and credit card verification.

What we store

We store only the verification outcome — not your documents. The goal is to confirm you are an adult without holding sensitive identity files longer than necessary.

Optional profile verification

Beyond the required age check, members can earn a verified badge for age and photo verification. A verified badge means the member has completed additional identity or photo verification beyond the required age check. It is a trust signal, not an endorsement.

Verified profiles appear more prominently in search results, and the badge helps you know who you are talking to before you connect.

How this fits into a safer community

Verification is one layer of several. Content is scanned by automated moderation with human review for flagged material, and every member has block and report tools. Together, these keep the community made up of real, age-verified adults.

If you are unsure which method applies to you, the options are presented during onboarding based on your region.
